"Knowledge and understanding is a good starting point in the treatment of this often misunderstood disorder"

Fear of rejection:

People can have a fear of rejection for a number of reasons. If a person has been suffering from anxiety disorders for most of his/her life, s/he may feel that nobody ever really understood him/her and may find themselves constantly trying to please others in order to be liked. If anyone doesn't agree with them in any instance, s/he may take it as being rejected by that person.

Some people constantly try to please others despite being taken advantage of. When anyone asks them for a favour they usually find it difficult to say no, and when they do say no, they usually feel guilty. It could be that they felt unloved during childhood and are simply craving for attention. Also they may feel clingy to others and feel that without the support of others they wouldn't be able to make it on their own.

If you quite often unnecessarily find yourself feeling guilty for anything that you had said or done, ask yourself if somebody else had said or done the same things to you, would you want them to feel guilty about it? We need to accept the fact that there are good as well as bad people around. If you constantly feel guilty and apologise to people every time, then certain people would use you for their advantage when ever possible. Fear of rejection is covered in "The Root Cause".
